How long does a Professional Organizing project take?

Many clients are curious about how long their project will take. But that’s up to you. For example, how long we need depends on how quickly you make decisions, or whether you complete small tasks independently between appointments. After the first appointment, I can give you an approximate estimate of how long it will take us to organize your space, like your kitchen or home office.

Do I need to prepare anything for my first Professional Organizing appointment?

Let’s compare:

CleanerProfessional Organizer
A cleaner will do the work independently of you. They don’t teach you anything. As a professional organizer, I coach you in organizing so that you learn new skills to apply in your home.
A cleaner needs to be booked regularly, on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.As a professional organizer, I will come to your home for your specific project. Once we have completed the project, you can now maintain the order on your own.
A cleaner cleans, washes, irons.A professional organizer declutters with you, finds new storage solutions and creates a personal organization system.

 

By the way: After a successful professional organizing project, cleaning your space will also become a lot easier and quicker!

Is there anything to prepare for the first Professional Organizing appointment?

No, you don’t need to prepare anything for the first appointment.
You also don’t need to buy any storage solutions yet. We will discuss which organizing aids you really need during your project.
One less thing to worry about, right?

What exactly happens at the first Professional Organizing appointment?

At the first appointment, we’ll take a look at your home and the areas you’d like to tidy up. We’ll discuss what hasn’t worked for you so far and what your goals are. I’ll ask you a lot of questions.

Next, we’ll get straight down to tidying up! Because motivation is high at this moment and we’ll want to take advantage of that momentum. You can also find out more about the steps in the process under Service.

Is an interior design consultation possible?

Ja! Auf Wunsch berate ich meine Kund:innen gerne bei einem Umstyling der Wohnung: neue Farben, neue Möbel, neue Stoffe… Schau dir mal dieses Projekt an, bei dem sich der Kunde eine Einrichtungsberatung gewünscht hat: Das große Wohnzimmer-Makeover.

How will I receive the invoice?

You will receive an invoice by email after each professional organizing appointment. You can pay in cash at the appointment or afterwards by bank transfer.

Is Professional Organizing tax-deductible?

Yes, in Germany you can declare it as a “household-related service” on your tax return (only if you pay the invoice by bank transfer). If you are self-employed or have a business and we tidy up your office, you can also submit it as a business expense on your tax return.

Does the client have to be present or does a Professional Organizer tidy up alone?

This is very important. Professional organizing only works if we work together, for these reasons:

  • The aim is for you to learn how to maintain order on your own in the long-term. During our appointment, I’ll show you a lot of techniques and give you valuable tips.
  • I can’t decide which things you want to keep or dispose of. You will make those decisions with my support.
  • You also know best how often you use things. For example whether they should always be on hand or can be stored further away.
