Professional organizing was only the first step in this living room: walls were to fall! We wanted to renovate and refurnish the entire living room. You can see the individual steps and the result here. <\/p>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

The challenge: Why we<\/strong> renovate<\/strong> the living room<\/h2>\n\n

After the client and I had already organized his bookshelf<\/a> and kitchen<\/a>, we now had the biggest project: sorting out and renovating the living room. <\/p>\n\n

An extensive DVD collection and the action figures show at first glance the great passion that my client has for movies. Numerous shelves are filled to overcrowded. This makes the living room look messy and also quite youthful. <\/p>\n\n

The couch was getting on in years and the red curtains didn’t match the color at all. The carpet was still from the previous tenant and no longer beautiful. <\/p>\n\n

The solution: tidy up and renovate the living room<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n
<\/div>\n\n

1. Create order<\/h3>\n\n

What is the best way to organize and present a collection? By carefully curating them, like in a museum. Not just any object is allowed to go on the shelf, but only the most beautiful and extraordinary pieces. The DVDs were all (!) allowed to stay, but the CD shelf and some decorations had to go. <\/p>\n\n

An additional cabinet with doors provides more storage space. The DVDs disappear behind the cupboard doors and the room looks tidier right away. <\/p>\n\n

2. Remove a wall<\/h3>\n\n

The biggest change: At my suggestion, the customer removed a subsequently installed drywall between the living room and kitchen. This created a modern, spacious living area. The light from the kitchen now brightens up the living room even more. What a change! <\/p>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

3. Renovate walls and floors<\/h3>\n\n

Next, there was a fresh, white coat of paint for the walls. The old, gray carpet has given way to wooden parquet. This also reflects the light and makes the living room shine. <\/p>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

4. Interior design consulting<\/h3>\n\n

I then advised the client on interior design. In preparation, I created a mood board, with a color concept as well as numerous inspiration photos and furnishing suggestions. We have also agreed on the budget for this living room renovation. <\/p>\n\n

Together they went on a couch shopping tour. With success, as can be seen below! For other textiles such as curtains, pillows and blankets, I also gave a shopping consultation. <\/p>\n\n

5. Shopping<\/h3>\n\n

On the one hand, furniture was used for this extensive project that the customer already had and that he liked. In addition, we used various stores in Berlin and online shops. <\/p>\n\n

And this is what the client says: <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

“Sorted out, rearranged, tidied up – under Christin’s guidance, a perfect mix of personality, functionality and style has been created in the living room. A breakthrough in two senses – with the removal of the plasterboard wall, modern living has become possible. And at the same time, everything has its place without it being too crowded. <\/em>The living room is cozy and inviting. I like to spend time here to relax, work, listen to music… Through Christin’s eye for what is possible and what can be gotten out of the four walls, I have really rediscovered my apartment! <\/em>“<\/p>\n\n
